Bookkeeper

Overview:

The Bookkeeper helps Crossroads Church make critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the church’s finances. They are responsible for daily financial management as well as financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year.

Core Responsibilities

  • Management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable:
    • Accounts Payable
      • Bills/Invoices
      • Recurring payments
      • Customer service - supporting vendors
    • Accounts Receivable
      • Weekly Contributions
      • Customer service - supporting congregation, partners, and leases with financial information as needed
      • Manage Annual contribution statements
  • Payroll
    • Bimonthly payroll
      • Calculating and processing employee wages, including deductions for taxes and other withholdings
    • Adjustments to system for current, new and exiting employees
  • Systems Management
    • Reconciling of Accounts: Matching bank statements with accounting records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
    • Generating financial reports like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Generate financial reports for quarterly business meetings and year end financials
    • Forms management: Provide ledger information for applicable ministries
  • HR & Other
    • Retirement payment and adjustments
    • Manage Employee Insurance premiums (Kaiser, Guardian and Delta)
    • Manage church insurance premiums
    • Assisting with Tax preparation

Qualifications:

  • Must be passionate about the local church and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must be a firmly grounded Christian whose life is modeled by solid commitment to Jesus Christ
  • Result driven team player
  • Should have educational background/experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting
  • Require accreditation: Certified Bookkeeper

Relationships:

  • The Bookkeeper will report directly to the CEO .
  • Will be a part of the Operations
  • Will be a staff member working with the entire Crossroads staff to carry out the mission/vision God has given us.
