MY STORY | Vulnerability
If an angel were to appear to your mother while she was pregnant with
you, what kind of prophetic statement would that heavenly messenger
make about you?
DIGGING DEEPER | Practical Biblical Application
And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah ... (Luke 1:16-17a)
Why is it significant that thousands of the first believers in the early
church were Jewish?
Why does the angel (who appeared to Zechariah) combine the ideas of spirit and power here? What is the relationship between these two things?
GROWING TOGETHER | Spiritual Friendship
To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” (Luke 1:17b)
Why is it important that we focus our spiritual energy on the generation that will follow us? Which young people in our church are showing evidence of leadership gifts now?
Why does the angel focus on the wisdom of the just here? How does this particular type of wisdom prepare us for what God may have in mind for us?
MOVING OUTWARD | Faith in Action
Focus your efforts this week on identifying the spiritual gifts of a person who is at least 10 years younger than you, and encourage that young person to put his or her gifts into action—especially during this Christmas season.
