GROUP DISCUSSION
1. Open with prayer. (2-5 min)
2. Share your story:
Finish this sentence with the first thing that comes to mind... “I bring value to my family, church, and community because I... [fill-in-the-blank]. (7-10 min).
3. Read Genesis 2:7
4. Discuss these questions with your group. (20-45 min)

Looking back at your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time, stuck with you, challenged or confused you?

What are some common standards by which a person’s value is measured?

What is your usual response when someone clearly does not see, believe in, or acknowledge your value?

Why do we want to hang out with, work for, or marry people who do recognize our value? What happens to our relationships when value is ignored or taken for granted?

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (Genesis 2:7)

How does the being made in the image of God “level the playing field” when it comes to a person’s value as a human being?

LIVING IN 4D
What are some practical ways to acknowledge the value of people in your circle of influence?

For whom would it be difficult for you to do this? Why? What could be your first step in acknowledging this person’s value?

What is the one important thing you will take away from this weekend’s message or our community group discussion? Is there any challenge, difficulty or praise that you would like to share with the group for prayer?
