3. Discuss these questions with your group. (20-45 min)
4. Read John 14:15-30, John 16:4-15
Looking back at your notes from this week's message, was there anything you heard for the first time, stuck with you, challenged or confused you?
You know [the Holy Spirit], for he dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:17)
What would you be unable to do without the Holy Spirit?
How does the Holy Spirit make Himself known to you?
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. (John 16:7)
Why did Jesus need to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come?
Is Jesus still with us, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us (as believers)? Explain.
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
How have you been gifted by the Holy Spirit? How is Jesus using those gifts to encourage and build us up at Crossroads?
PLAN OF ACTION
What would you like your relationship with the Holy Spirit to be like? Engage with Him this week. Pray directly to Him. Lay out your plans and ask Him what He thinks. What does He want you to notice this week? With whom does He want you to talk?
What is the one important thing you will take away from this weekend's message or our community group discussion? Is there any challenge, difficulty or praise that you would like to share with the group for prayer?
Message Notes
You can add your own personal sermon notes along the way. When you're finished, you'll be able to email or download your notes.
