1. Open with prayer. (2-5 min)
2. Read Luke 24:13-54.
3. Discuss these questions with your group. (20-45 min)

Looking back at your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time, stuck with you, challenged or confused you?

MY STORY | Vulnerability
Describe one of your more powerful “epiphanies” (where you suddenly realized something mind-blowing that had been in your “blind spot” for a long time). (7-10 min)

DIGGING DEEPER | Practical Biblical Application
While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. (Luke 24:15-16)

Why did God allow these two men to go for so long without recognizing Jesus? Why would God keep something hidden from you?

Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, [Jesus] interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27)

Give some examples of “hints” in the Old Testament of Jesus’ future work and ministry.

What would keep a person from recognizing who Jesus really is?

GROWING TOGETHER | Spiritual Friendship
They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” (Luke 24:32)

Describe an experience when the Holy Spirit was speaking to you, but you didn’t see it at the time.

What can you learn from that incident to be sure you don’t miss His prompting in the future?

LIVING IN 4D | Missional Living
After the resurrection, Jesus said to the disciples ...

You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high. (Luke 24:48-49)

Jesus wanted his followers to stay put until they were equipped (by the Holy Spirit) to do what He wanted them to do.

Where are you in this? Are you still in training, or are you ready to get out there?

What is the one important thing you will take away from this weekend’s message or our community group discussion? Is there any challenge, difficulty or praise that you would like to share with the group for prayer?
