GROUP DISCUSSION
1. Open with prayer. (2-5 min)
2. Share your story:
What motivates you more: money, praise, or purpose? (7-10 min)
3. Read Hebrews 11:24-26, 12:1-2.
4. Discuss these questions with your group. (20-45 min)

Looking back at your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time, stuck with you, challenged or confused you?

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

Who is cheering you on? How does the absence of affirmation impact you?

When you hear about things that weigh you down, what comes to mind?

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

[Moses] considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. (Hebrews 11:26)

How do you know that you have your eyes on the right payoff?

What motivates you? Is that motivation taking you in the right direction? Explain.

LIVING IN 4D
Start this conversation with someone in your community: What do you want to be known for? What motivates you from day to day?

What is the one important thing you will take away from this weekend’s message or our community group discussion? Is there any challenge, difficulty or praise that you would like to share with the group for prayer?
