MISSIONS

Pastor Matt reminded us that Jesus made it clear that our Kingdom assignments focus on three, separate, geographical areas — on ALL three, in ways that unique to each of us.

MY STORY
In regard to your growth as a disciple, which individual had the most influence on you? Why did this person make such a big impact on your spiritual formation?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO HEAR?
Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8).

What were Jesus' specific commands when it came to making disciples?

According to Jesus, where should we focus our discipleship efforts?

How would the intent of Jesus' commission in Acts 1:8 be different if He had exchanged the word "and" with the word "or"?

According to Pastor Matt, what does the oft-repeated word nations (ethnos) tell us about God's heart for reaching all the nations of the world with his compassion and grace through the Gospel?

What does God want us to hear? Based on the passage and the questions above, what "takeaways" do you think God has revealed to you?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO DO?

What do these geographical areas represent in your life: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the end of the earth?

How are your discipleship efforts, or your support of other disciple-makers, currently manifested in each of these geographic areas?

What does God want us to do? Flowing out of our reading and interpretation, what action does this passage or the Spirit's leading, call us to.

WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO?
Identify the weakest geographic area of your discipleship efforts, either at home, your church, your community, your country, or the rest of the world.

Focus on this weakest area, and find some creative ways to extend your disciple-making efforts there. Recruit some believers to help you in this endeavor.

What does God want ME to do? What is the personal application and action step God is calling you, personally, toward?
