Pastor Matt reminded us about the important of using God's stewardship guidelines to shape our financial goals.

MY STORY
Imagine that on your 18th birthday you found out, to the exact penny, how much money would be yours to manage in a lifetime.

In what ways would you budget that total amount? How would that knowledge impact your spending decisions?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO HEAR?
"Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: "Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. "But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you." (1 Chronicles 29:10-14)

What materials did David provide for his son Solomon to build God's Temple?

Extra credit: Do an online search to find out how much those resources would be worth in today's market.

We often say, "May God bless you." Instead, David blessed God.

What does it mean to "bless God?" How do think those blessings make Him feel?

What two things did David say come from God?

Why do many men and women believe that those two things ultimately originate from human ingenuity and cunning?

How did David simply acknowledge that God was the origin of everything we possess? (You could almost see him shrugging his shoulders when he says it – like it's THAT obvious)

What does God want us to hear? Based on the passage and the questions above, what "takeaways" do you think God has revealed to you?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO DO?
What is it about David's attitude toward his possessions, and their ultimate origin, that would be healthy for us to emulate?

What are some ways that God provides supernaturally? What are some of the more "natural" means by which he also supplies?

What does God want us to do? Flowing out of our reading and interpretation, what action does this passage or the Spirit's leading, call us to?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO?
Pastor Matt asked, "What is your goal when it comes to your finances?" After hearing all these messages, what would you say is your primary objective when it comes to your money?

How does giving to Crossroads reflect your value system? Why are you willing to support the ministries that the church is doing – Kingdom-work that impacts you personally, and affects your local and global community?

What does God want ME to do? What is the personal application and action step God is calling you, personally, toward?
