Keeping You in the Loop #34

Services in the Building! Serving for Thanksgiving

by Pastor Trevor DeVore on October 22, 2020

Cheers and Greetings!

Pastor Trevor here – Jesus’ second greatest command was to love your neighbor …… I want to take a brief moment and share how that is currently happening at Crossroads.

OUTREACH
First, we want to celebrate two things with you, and then share an opportunity. At Crossroads we are making a huge impact in our community, right now even amidst COVID-19.

1) At our Northglenn location, in partnership with the City of Northglenn, we started a mobile shower and laundry service on Tuesdays. This is meeting the needs of the local homeless community and is a great way to meet a practical need.

2) We had an opportunity to serve our local law enforcement in downtown Denver. Precinct 6 has seen 100-plus days of riots and disruption. As you can imagine the morale is at an all-time low and discouragement is commonplace. Representatives from Crossroads Church had the opportunity to provide lunch (Blessed BBQ by Steve Shireman) and prayer (led by our Prayer Team) for all who attended. Not only were tummies filled, but spirits were lifted. Thanks Crossroads Church for your love and care for our neighbors (especially our law enforcement community)!

3) Finally, an opportunity and invite for you to serve locally in our own community. Hard to believe, but October is winding down and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Over the years we have great opportunities to partner with our local schools and partners. As you can imagine the need for physical care is at an all time high. Local families are in need of food and support.

So Crossroads, in partnership with Calvary Church, is hoping to provide food bags for community families in need for Thanksgiving.

Crossroads, your generosity is immense and I know no family will go without this season because of your great care and compassion for our neighbors! Keep up the great work!

MEGA AWESOME COSTUME PARTY
This Sunday, October 25, Crossroads Kids is having a PARTY! We are inviting the kids to come to church Sunday Morning dressed up in their MEGA AWESOME COSTUME as we worship together and discover what Jesus meant when He said “You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14). All kids who come to church will be making a kit to share with their neighbors on Halloween night in a safe, touchless way. You won’t want to miss this amazing costume party – be sure to register for the weekend service below.

Please, no Halloween masks, but sport your best COVID mask.

Last Friday, the Tri-County Health department released a health order limiting the number of people in private settings. It does not affect our ability to gather for Weekend Worship. We have three in-house, live worship services that you can choose from for Sunday, October 25:

•    Ft Lupton @ 10am RSVP for your seat here

•    Thornton @ 11am RSVP for your seat here

We will continue to stream our service for those who are unable to attend or chose to continue to worship from home at crossroadsabc.live. Our new streaming times are 9am, 11am, 1pm, & 6pm.

If you are planning on coming to a building, remember:

  • Pre-registration is required.
  • In accordance with our state mandate, masks will be required for all people, of all ages, at our facilities, at all times.
  • Inside the worship spaces, we will provide seating with social distancing in mind and will ask families/parties to leave 2 to 3 chairs between themselves and other families.
