Keeping You in the Loop #40

Christmas Eve, Community Groups, and Volunteering

by Pastor Kim Skattum on December 03, 2020

Hello Crossroads,

Golly I miss us all getting together for worship and fellowship and fun! If there's one thing COVID has taught me it's a greater and greater appreciation for all y'all.

It's my honor today to open this Keeping You In The Loop message with a sincere request. This year has been unlike any other, particularly in how we understand and express being the body of Christ, the Church. Since my retirement in January, I have been so very privileged to have a front row seat in observing how Pastor Matt and our staff have navigated the pandemic in leading this amazing church.

They have all been doing some very heavy lifting all year. Every staff person at Crossroads Church deserves a huge round of applause. They have worked tirelessly to make decisions, changes, adjustments and pivots in response to the daily challenges the Coronavirus has demanded.

So here's my request: Would you please join me in digging deep this Christmas to give as generously as possible to our STAFF LOVE OFFERING? It would be a great way to say "thank you" as they each receive a check shortly after the first of the year. This year like no other let's overwhelm our staff with our love and thanks. Will you please consider doing that? Thank you so very much!

Oh, and while I'm typing, let me remind you that I'm hosting my 14th trip to the Holy Land June 23 - July 4, 2021. This is a life-changing experience unlike anywhere else on earth and it's a great time to go! Visit crossroadsabc.com/holyland for all the information and dates of Zoom information meetings in January.

CHRISTMAS EVE
Join us for Christmas Eve!

@ Thornton 5pm and 7pm registration required.
@ Ft. Lupton 6pm. No registration needed.

If standing outside, in the cold, with people isn't your thing (I'm looking at you Pastor Tim), we've got you covered! You can celebrate Christmas from the comfort of your own home, with our special Crossroadsabc.live Christmas Eve Service at 5pm, 7pm, 8pm and 11:30pm.

This has been a hard year for us all and we need a little hope. Come celebrate with us the hope we have in Jesus, online or in person.

COMMUNITY GROUPS
This fall has been such a dynamic time for our Community Groups. In this season of so much unknown and rapidly-changing circumstances, we saw vital connections being made in the lives of our people. As we journeyed through the ten weeks together, we saw gracious support, needs being met, and personal relationships with one another growing.

Our next ten-week cycle begins January 10! Sign ups are available now on our website. If you're looking for a community of people who will love you, support you, and journey with you as you walk with Jesus, I'd encourage you to consider joining one of our groups. We have over 20 groups open: for men and women, groups for families, and even young adults. It's vital that in this season we stay close to those who keep us close to Jesus!

VOLUNTEERS
We have two awesome opportunities for you to serve in bringing about Kingdom impact.

Family Ministry: We are excited as we prepare to open up preschool and nursery classes in addition to the already open elementary classes during Worship Services in December! Crossroads Kids volunteers are a team of fun-loving and crazy creative people seeking to partner with parents in connecting kids in our communities with Jesus and the life of adventure we find in Him. In family ministry, our goal is to partner with parents in helping kids meet Jesus, know Jesus, serve Jesus, and share Jesus! If you are looking to expand your Kingdom impact in the lives of the next generation, we are looking for YOU! We have volunteer positions available from caring for infants while parents worship, to dancing and crafting with preschoolers, to leading worship and teaching grade schoolers about Jesus! For more info or to apply as a volunteer, contact .

Innovation: In the last year here at Crossroads we have created a new area of ministry that is called Innovation. Led by Pastor Jared, this team is hard at work creating and developing new ways for all of us to engage and share the Gospel through digital content. This new area of ministry opens up a variety of new and exciting ways for you to serve your church on our digital media platform. If you have an eye for videography or photography, we would love for you to join our weekend broadcast team, or participate in larger cinematic shoots. We are more than happy to spend time training you and helping to develop your skills. Perhaps running a camera does not excite you, but engaging with online viewers feels like a better fit. In that case, join our online chat and prayer team. Interact with viewers from all over the world through our Crossroads LIVE platform. To learn more about opportunities to serve our Innovation ministry, please contact Pastor Jared at

LIVE WORSHIP
Live worship services are happening at:

We respect the fact that not everyone will be able to gather with us in-house, so we continue to provide live streaming of our services at Crossroadsabc.live, Facebook, and now on YouTube! Those services are 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 6pm. If you are planning on coming to a building for worship, remember:

  • If you are feeling sick at all, please stay home.
  • Pre-registration will be required.
  • Masks will be required for all people, of all ages, at our facilities, at all times. We are choosing to go above and beyond the guidelines in order to love the vulnerable in our faith community.
  • Inside the worship spaces, we provide seating with physical distancing in mind and ask families/parties to leave 2 to 3 chairs between themselves and other families.

GENEROSITY
Thank you for your continued faithfulness! It has given us the ability to be a generous church in our community and around the world. Know that your giving is an investment in the Kingdom as we pursue the mission and vision God has given to this church. If you would like to give to the mission of Crossroads, you can in three ways:

If you prefer to give by check, you may send it to: Crossroads Church, 10451 Huron St., Northglenn, Colorado 80234
