Nate describes his past as a "dog tag Christian," someone who claimed the label but didn't have a personal relationship with God. He felt something was missing in his life and was afraid to fully commit because he believed he had to turn his life around and be "worthy" first. Nate now realizes that you simply need to accept Jesus into your heart. As he dug into scripture and the word of God, his desires and life's direction changed. He began to turn away from sin, finding peace and a new perspective. Nate was baptized not because he has his life "figured out," but because he knows who he belongs to.
