GROUP DISCUSSION
1. Open with prayer. (2-5 min)
2. Share your story ... Talk about a time when you experienced some- thing spectacular and thought "Wow, without God, that would have been impossible!" (7-10 min)
3. Discuss these questions with your group. (20-45 min)
4. Read Acts 3 & 4

Looking back at your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time, stuck with you, challenged or confused you?

[Peter] addressed the people: "Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk? (Acts 3:12)

What are some limitations to your own power, apart from the Holy Spirit?

Peter said, "I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!" And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. (Acts 3:6-7)

What are some things you can do for people only with the power of the Holy Spirit?

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them ... (Acts 4:8)

What does it feel like for you to be filled with the Spirit? Are there "degrees" of being filled for you? Explain.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

What are some reasons some judgmental people might dismiss you? In what ways would your relationship with Jesus make a difference, even with people who might be disrespectful?

PLAN OF ACTION
Choose one of Pastor Chris' three action steps: [1. Choose Dependence; 2. Kill the Noise; 3. Reject Comfort], and do something practical this week. Determine to do something this week that would only be possible through the power of the Holy Spirit: perhaps request a miracle, express a spiritual gift, or enter into a difficult conversation.

What is the one important thing you will take away from this weekend’s message or our community group discussion? Is there any challenge, difficulty or praise that you would like to share with the group for prayer?
